Rural Water Ventures Invests in projects to provide safe drinking water to rural communities in Nicaragua
The mission of Rural Water Ventures is to save lives and to reduce the incidence of serious disease among rural communities in Nicaragua by funding projects that will provide them access to abundant quantities of safe water and hygienic sanitation.
- In Nicaragua, 1.4 million - 2.25 million people currently live without access to safe water
- Thousands of communities, mainly in central and eastern Nicaragua, are currently without access to safe water
- Since 2002 RWV has participated in 30 projects to bring safe water to rural communities in Nicaragua
- More than 6,000 people, over half of whom are children, have benefitted from RWV's investment in these villages
